What actually makes a clip perform

Short-form platforms reward the same core behaviors, whatever their branding says:

• Watch time. Did viewers watch the whole clip? Completion rate is the single strongest quality signal everywhere.
• Rewatches. Clips people replay get pushed harder.
• Shares. Someone sending your clip to a friend is the strongest endorsement a platform can measure.

When you review a Moment, judge it against those behaviors: would a stranger watch this to the end, and would they show it to someone?

The first three seconds decide everything

Viewers scroll fast. A clip that takes ten seconds to get going is dead before it starts. Favor Moments that open with:

• Action already happening. The play, the reaction, the punchline setup, not the buildup.
• A strong emotion on screen. Genuine shock, laughter, or disbelief hooks instantly.
• A question or bold claim. Something that makes a stranger need to know how it ends.
